increased pressure on the environment (impoverished or dead soils, reduced water quality and availability, increased erosion, rising greenhouse gas emissions, dead zones, reduced biodiversity…),
increased production and consumption of nutritionally devoid food, and
inequitable outcomes for consumers and producers.

Changing how we farm is the start of it all. The adoption of regenerative and organic agriculture is crucial in shifting our relationship with nature from extractive to symbiotic. We partner with companies and initiatives who develop solutions to scale regenerative agriculture through access to knowledge, improved technologies, and removal of barriers for increased access and adoption of regenerative practices by farmers. We look for solutions that empower farmers and make their lives easier, giving them the resources, tools, or data they need to make the best decisions for their farm and grow food that nourishes both people and nature.
In our current system, a lot happens between when food leaves the farm and ends up on plates or grocery store shelves. This complex system relies on scale, globalized distribution networks, and commoditization. Most the economic value is created in this stage, leaving farmers squeezed and consumers pinched. We work with companies and entrepreneurs creating local, short, and diverse supply chains that reward farmers and embrace diversity over standardization. We also look to support solutions that make these supply chains smarter, eliminating waste and minimizing processing, so more good stuff ends up in our kitchens and more value flows back to farmers.
The whole point of food is nourishment. For our bodies, souls, and spirits. The act of eating is a daily ritual, and we believe that we all need access to diverse diets of nutrient-dense food to flourish. To make the right decisions for ourselves and our families, we also need to understand what is in our food. That is why we support companies and initiatives providing both access to fresh, healthy food and information and transparency on how that food fuels us. We hope to empower to nourish themselves with each bite.
